Objective

To provide legal expertise and services to the Ministry. 

Activities

1. Provide legal advice and assistance to Ministry's Divisions, Units and entities;
2. Litigate civil and other claims instituted by or against the Ministry in liaison with solicitor Generals Office;
3. Draft and vet contracts;
4. Prepare and maintain a register of all statutes and regulations enforced by the Ministry;
5. Supervise review of all relevant statutes and propose necessary amendments or enactment of new laws;
6. Draft Regulations, Rules and Government Notice;
7. Update the Ministry with any new enacted law or amendment related to Ministry's functions; and
8. Maintain a register of all cases filed by or against the Ministry at the Court of Appeal, High Court and Tribunals.
