Objective

To administer land ownership and development processes in the country for security of tenure and sustainable development.

Functions

1. To provide technical advice on matters pertaining to delivery of land;
2. To develop, coordinate and review implementation of policies, laws, strategies, programs and guidelines related to Land Administration;
3. To recommend on allocation, renewal and revocation of rights of occupancy for areas of national interest;
4. To conduct public awareness on the Land Laws;
5. To coordinate issues arising from the declaration of extension of urban areas to cover village land;
6. To facilitate land acquisition, revocation and transfer;
7. To advise on declaration of hazardous lands;
8. To oversee the preparation of certificates of right of occupancy and other land administration documents;
9. To facilitate auctions and tenders of prime land; and
10. To conduct settlement of land disputes administratively.
